Roig Arena welcomes 1.7 million visitors in first year
Valencia’s Roig Arena in Spain has welcomed more than 1.7 million visitors and hosted 310 events during its first 12 months of operation, including concerts, basketball games and corporate events.
The €400 million multi-purpose venue opened on September 6, 2025, and has since established itself as a significant new stop on the Spanish and European touring circuit.
Concert activity drives first-year attendance
Music accounted for a major share of activity during the first year, with around 800,000 people attending 125 concerts. Of those, approximately 710,000 attended shows in the main arena and 90,000 in the smaller Auditorium.
All concerts at Roig Arena are promoted by external promoters rather than by the venue itself. Nearly 90 national and international promoters have so far staged concerts at the venue, underlining its role as a host venue for the wider live music industry.
The venue said 55 concerts sold out during the period, equivalent to 44% of all concerts staged.
Artists appearing during the first year included Ed Sheeran, Pet Shop Boys, Hans Zimmer, Rod Stewart, 5 Seconds of Summer, André Rieu, Laura Pausini, The Waterboys, Rosalía, Aitana, Joaquín Sabina and David Bisbal.
Spanish artist Quevedo recorded the venue’s largest concert audience so far, attracting more than 19,000 people in October 2025.
The Auditorium has meanwhile been used for smaller-scale shows, hosting acts including Biffy Clyro, Suede, The Psychedelic Furs and The Cat Empire.
Strong future calendar
More than 90 concerts have already been announced for the venue’s future calendar, with 12 sold out, while almost 50 corporate events are also scheduled.
Roig Arena General Manager Víctor Sendra said "We are extremely pleased with the positive response we have observed over these 12 months from event promoters, companies that have placed their trust in us and, in general, Valencian society, which sees this project as something necessary that is helping position Valencia, the Valencian Community and Spain within the global entertainment industry, while also contributing a technological component of the highest level."
Roig Arena has a maximum concert capacity of around 20,000 and employs more than 250 permanent staff alongside nearly 700 temporary workers. The venue was privately funded by Mercadona president Juan Roig and designed by Spanish architecture practice ERRE.
