Latitude Secures UK Site Until 2046
UK festival Latitude has agreed a new 20-year lease that will keep the event at Henham Park near Southwold, Suffolk, until at least 2046.
Festival founder Melvin Benn announced the agreement during this year’s event, which marked Latitude’s 20th anniversary.
Latitude was established at Henham Park in 2006 and is promoted by Festival Republic, part of the Live Nation Entertainment group. The four-day event combines live music with comedy, theatre, literature, poetry, dance and science programming.
The festival has grown from an initial peak daily attendance of around 4,500 to an overall attendance of approximately 135,000 across the event. This year’s music headliners included David Byrne, Teddy Swims and Lewis Capaldi.
Henham Park owner Hektor Rous said the festival had become an important part of the estate and had contributed to the restoration and maintenance of its buildings, forestry and surrounding landscape.
“Latitude Festival has been an incredible and pivotal event for Henham Park, and we couldn’t be more pleased to have agreed another 20 years with the brilliantly creative and passionate team at Festival Republic led by Melvin Benn,” Rous said.
The agreement provides Live Nation-owned Festival Republic with long-term security for one of its largest UK festivals, extending a partnership with the Henham Park estate that has continued since Latitude’s launch.
