Frank Turner to step away from touring
UK singer-songwriter Frank Turner has announced plans to step away from live touring following the final edition of his Lost Evenings festival at London’s OVO Arena Wembley in November 2027.
Turner said the four-night event, taking place from 4–7 November 2027, will be his final live performances “for the foreseeable future”.
Lost Evenings X will also mark the tenth and final edition of the festival, which has previously been staged in London, Boston, Berlin, Anaheim, Toronto, Edinburgh and Dallas.
Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls will headline each night, with additional guests still to be announced. General ticket sales begin on 30 September 2026.
Explaining the decision, Turner pointed to both personal and industry factors.
“I’ve been on the road most of my life, put in a shift, and I want to try new things,” he said. “I want to recharge, spend more time with my friends and family, and explore other ways of life.”
He also referred to the changing economics and wider environment around touring.
“It’s also worth saying that the economics of touring have gotten harder, the music industry has been swallowed by social media in a way that doesn’t really interest me, and as I get older my physical and mental health could do with some care.”
Turner stressed that he was not formally retiring from music, saying he genuinely did not know when he would return to performing but that it would “certainly not” be for some time.
The announcement follows more than two decades of extensive touring. Turner began his solo career after fronting UK post-hardcore band Million Dead and played his first solo shows in 2004. According to his official live archive, he has now passed 3,000 performances, with his 3,000th show taking place at Alexandra Palace in London in February 2025.
The Wembley shows will also bring Turner back to a venue with significant history in his career. He first headlined Wembley Arena in 2012, one of the milestones in his transition from club-level touring to major international venues.
Turner described the 2027 concerts as an opportunity to finish this phase of his career on a high.
“These final shows will be a pinnacle, and chance for all of us to celebrate the last 20 years and bid them the farewell they deserve,” he said.
