ESNS announces first 42 artists for Eurosonic 2027
ESNS has announced the first 42 artists confirmed for Eurosonic 2027, with acts from 31 European countries set to perform in Groningen, the Netherlands, from 13–15 January.
The first wave follows a record response to the ESNS artist application process, with almost 6,000 artists applying before the 1 September deadline.
The selection includes artists nominated in collaboration with 28 radio stations that are members of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), alongside additional acts chosen for the Eurosonic programme.
Among the first names announced are Aaron Rowe from Ireland, Gildaa from France, Gwenifer Raymond from Wales, HVNDS from Romania, Ida The Young from the Czech Republic, Isabel van Gelder from the Netherlands, Olga Myko from Sweden, Osayuki from Belgium, panicbaby from Germany and Pigeon from England.
“From a record number of applications to an incredibly diverse and high-quality selection, this first wave is a great reflection of Europe’s music scene. We are delighted to make this selection together with 28 EBU radio stations from across Europe and excited to bring these artists to ESNS 2027,” said Oskar Strajn, Head of Music at ESNS.
New Wednesday programme
ESNS said the 2027 edition will also introduce a new delegates-only programme at De Oosterpoort on the opening Wednesday. Following the professional showcases, the Eurosonic programme will expand into venues across Groningen city centre.
“We are excited to present a brand new programme on Wednesday that allows music professionals and music lovers to discover exciting music and the city of Groningen in the best way possible. In 2027 we kickstart ESNS with exclusive delegate only showcases at De Oosterpoort. After that, pro’s join the festival crowd at some familiar and unfamiliar venues in the city,” said Anna van Nunen, Managing Director of ESNS.
European industry meeting point
Held annually in Groningen, ESNS combines the Eurosonic showcase festival with Noorderslag and an international music industry conference. The event has developed into one of Europe’s key meeting points for booking agents, promoters, festival representatives, managers, labels and other music professionals, with a particular focus on introducing emerging European artists to international audiences and industry decision-makers.
