Telenova cancel 2026 UK and European tour
Australian indie rock band Telenova have cancelled their planned 2026 UK and European tour, citing the financial and logistical challenges of touring internationally.
The tour had originally been scheduled earlier in the year before being moved to October. At the time, the band said the rescheduling was linked to the knock-on effects of international conflicts and rising travel costs.
The October run was due to include The Deaf Institute in Manchester and Oslo Hackney in London, as well as Supersonic in Paris, Paradiso in Amsterdam, YUCA in Cologne, Privatclub in Berlin and Klub Varsava in Prague.
Telenova have now confirmed that the rescheduled dates will not go ahead and ticket holders will receive refunds.
“To our dear EU/UK fans, we’ve got some sad news,” the band said in a statement. “Unfortunately, we’re going to have to refund the 2026 EU/UK tour. We’re heartbroken, especially as some of these shows were on track to be our biggest overseas headline shows yet.”
The band said that despite growing audiences in Europe and the UK, touring the region remains difficult for an Australian act at their current level.
“Even with our audience growth over there, it’s incredibly hard for Australian acts of our size to tour overseas,” Telenova said, adding that the band and its team had explored “every possible way to make this work.”
The cancellation highlights the continuing cost pressures facing developing and mid-level international touring artists, particularly those travelling long distances to reach European markets.
Telenova described the cancellation as a “huge blow” and thanked fans who had purchased tickets and supported the band.
The group said it will instead hold an online Q&A and meet-and-greet for fans in Europe and the UK, focused on its latest album, The Warning.
