Matt Owen Joins London Stadium as Associate Director

London Stadium has appointed Matt Owen as Associate Director as the venue looks to expand its programme of concerts and major live events.

Owen joins from Oak View Group, where he served as Senior Projects Manager, Global Content and Touring. He previously spent almost six years at Wembley Stadium, including as Programming Manager.

In his new role, Owen will work on developing London Stadium’s live entertainment business and attracting more major artists, tours and events to the 80,000-capacity venue.

The appointment comes as London Stadium seeks to increase its use beyond football and athletics. The venue hosted three Take That concerts and two Metallica shows during summer 2026 and has also submitted plans aimed at allowing more concerts and major events in future.

Commercial Director Gary Bell said Owen’s experience across major venues and touring would support the stadium’s ambitions to grow its live events calendar.

London Stadium is also exploring wider development opportunities around the site, with Populous appointed to examine potential future uses, including additional event infrastructure.
