European Metal Festivals Join Forces to Attract Sponsors
Seven independent European metal festivals are expanding their cooperation into commercial partnerships, offering sponsors access to a combined audience of more than 500,000 annual festival visits across seven countries.
United Festival Force (UFF), an alliance of seven European metal and hard rock festivals, is expanding its activities into joint sponsorship and brand partnerships ahead of the 2027 festival season.
The initiative builds on an existing collaboration established in 2022 to coordinate artist bookings and tour routing, particularly for international acts touring Europe during the second half of the summer.
The participating festivals are Bloodstock Open Air (UK), Alcatraz (Belgium), Brutal Assault (Czech Republic), Dynamo Metalfest (Netherlands), Leyendas del Rock (Spain), Motocultor (France) and Summer Breeze (Germany).
Combined audience of more than 500,000
According to figures published on UFF`s official website, the seven festivals recorded a combined 518,000 festival visits in 2026, presenting 715 bands across 27 stages.
Their combined digital presence includes approximately 853,000 Facebook followers, 589,000 Instagram followers, 93,000 TikTok followers and 573,000 YouTube subscribers.
These figures represent the combined totals reported by the individual festivals and may include overlapping audiences.
Summer Breeze accounts for the largest share of festival visits, with 180,000, followed by Brutal Assault with 90,000, Alcatraz with 75,000 and Bloodstock with 60,000.
Joint sponsorship opportunities for 2027
In a recent LinkedIn post, Bloodstock`s Adam Gregory confirmed that the festivals are working together on several initiatives for 2027, including commercial partnerships designed to give brands access to audiences across multiple European markets.
Gregory described the collaboration as an opportunity for companies to engage with a broader European audience through the seven independent festivals.
"The reach is impressive, the audience is impressive," he wrote, inviting interested brands to discuss potential collaborations for next summer.
The announcement was also shared by Alcatraz Festival on its official LinkedIn page.
First partnership already secured
UFF has already announced a three-year partnership with Safety Jogger, a supplier of protective footwear, workwear and safety equipment.
Under the agreement, the company will provide branded safety equipment for production and construction teams working at all seven festivals.
Cooperation began with artist booking
UFF was established in 2022 to strengthen cooperation between independent European metal festivals and improve touring opportunities for artists.
The original concept centred on coordinating artist bookings, reducing scheduling conflicts and creating more viable European touring routes, particularly for international bands travelling to Europe during August.
By presenting agents with opportunities across several festivals in different territories, the alliance sought to make late-summer European touring more commercially attractive.
The participating organisers also agreed to hold regular meetings to discuss potential areas of cooperation.
The expansion into sponsorship represents a further development of that model, allowing the festivals to jointly approach commercial partners while continuing to operate as independent events.
