Australian Festival Issues Scam Warning

Australia’s Good Things Festival has issued a warning about fraudulent social media groups, fake ticket offers and unofficial livestream links ahead of the announcement of its 2026 line-up.
The festival said scam activity is expected to increase as the December event approaches, with fake groups, competitions and ticket sellers attempting to present themselves as official channels.
Organisers specifically highlighted a Facebook group with more than 12,000 members that has been reposting official festival content. Good Things said the group is not affiliated with the event and is being used to target fans.
The festival confirmed that it has never operated an official Facebook group and will not provide a livestream of the event. Fans were also advised not to purchase tickets through social media comments, direct messages or unofficial pages.
For secondary ticket sales, organisers recommended using the festival’s authorised resale platform, which offers buyer protection.
Good Things also clarified that competition winners are contacted privately using the details submitted when entering, rather than through public comments on social media posts.
The warning comes ahead of the festival’s return to Melbourne on December 4, Sydney on December 5 and Brisbane on December 6.
Venues have not yet been confirmed. Melbourne and Brisbane have traditionally staged the festival at Flemington Racecourse and Brisbane Showgrounds, while the Sydney edition moved from Centennial Park to Sydney Showground in 2025.
