Live Nation Entertainment reported revenue of $7.7 billion for the second quarter of 2026, an increase of 9% compared with the same period last year, as international markets and strong demand for concerts supported growth across the group.

Operating income rose 7% to $522 million, while adjusted operating income increased 2% to $817 million.

The company’s concerts division generated revenue of $6.4 billion, up 8% year-on-year. Almost 49 million fans attended Live Nation events during the quarter, representing a 10% increase and the company’s highest-ever second-quarter attendance.

International attendance at stadiums, arenas and festivals increased by more than 20%, while US amphitheatre and arena attendance also recorded double-digit growth. US stadium attendance declined because of the timing of shows.

Adjusted operating income in the concerts division fell 14% to $310 million, reflecting the timing of stadium events, pre-opening costs for new venues and investment in international festivals.

Live Nation said it had sold more than 143 million concert tickets by mid-July, around 14 million ahead of the same point in 2025. Ticket sales across stadiums, arenas and amphitheatres were growing at mid-teen percentage rates.

Ticketmaster reports higher ticket volumes, with more than 40% estimated to be linked to Live Nation-promoted events

Ticketmaster revenue increased 15% to $852 million, while adjusted operating income rose 14% to $331 million.

The ticketing business sold 90 million fee-bearing tickets during the quarter, up 8%. Concert tickets accounted for around 90% of the increase in ticket volumes.

International markets sold 39 million tickets, an increase of 12%, while gross transaction value in those markets rose 20%, led by growth in South America.

Total reported fee-bearing gross transaction value increased 15% to more than $10 billion.

Ticketmaster ended the quarter with deferred gross transaction value of $5.2 billion, up 16%, and deferred service-fee revenue of $390 million, up 23%.

Based on Live Nation’s own figures, its promoted events accounted for an estimated 43% of Ticketmaster’s fee-bearing ticket volume in the first half of 2026.

Sponsorship benefits from international growth

Revenue in Live Nation’s sponsorship and advertising division increased 12% to $383 million. Adjusted operating income rose 13% to $257 million.

The company said international markets, new venues and global festivals were the main drivers of growth. The number of strategic partners generating more than $1 million in annual revenue increased by more than 20%.

Live Nation has now booked approximately 95% of its expected sponsorship commitments for 2026.

Venue investment programme continues

Live Nation expects its Venue Nation division to host close to 75 million fans during 2026, representing double-digit year-on-year growth.

The company has more than 25 large venues, each with capacities exceeding 3,000, scheduled to open by the end of 2027. The projects are expected to add annual capacity for approximately 15 million additional fans.

Full-year capital expenditure is forecast at $1.1 billion, including $800 million for venue expansion and improvement projects.

Live Nation now expects total fan attendance to increase by around 10% in 2026. The concerts division remains on track to deliver double-digit adjusted operating income growth for the full year, with most of the improvement expected during the fourth quarter.

Michael Rapino, President and CEO said “In a world of endless screens and AI-generated everything, the one thing that can’t be copied is being there. More artists are on the road than ever — and fans keep choosing to be in the room with them, driving the strongest concert ticket sales we’ve ever seen. More than 143 million tickets have sold through mid-July, over 14 million ahead of last year’s pace, with mid-teens ticket sales growth across all large venue types: stadiums, arenas, and amphitheaters.

None of this happens without the artists — they make these moments, and we’re grateful to every artist and crew who trust us with their tours. This was a quarter of milestones: nearly 49 million fans attended our shows, Ticketmaster grew adjusted operating income 14%, and all-time-high deferred revenue points to a strong second half. The first-quarter legal accrual will weigh on reported operating income, but we remain on track for double-digit adjusted operating income growth this year — and to compound at that level for years to come.”  –
