Connecting the live music industry
Estonian contemporary arts festival KIKUMU has joined YOUROPE, becoming the European festival association’s first member from Estonia.
Held near Tallinn, KIKUMU combines contemporary music, cinema and visual art, bringing together more than 60 artists from Estonia and abroad. The event takes place at a modernist school designed by Estonian architect Valve Pormeister and in the surrounding area.
The festival’s music programme spans genres ranging from jazz to techno, while its visual arts component has featured artists associated with the Venice Biennale and includes participation from more than seven galleries.
KIKUMU’s film programme is curated by Kino Sõprus, Tallinn’s oldest arthouse cinema. The wider programme also includes talks, nature-based activities and events for children.
The organisers describe KIKUMU as the region’s largest festival dedicated to contemporary music, art and cinema.
YOUROPE represents independent and major festivals across Europe, supporting cooperation, knowledge exchange and industry development among its members.
