Artists International Management founder Steven Alan Green dies

US-based Artists International Management has announced the death of its founder and longtime leader, Steven Alan Green, who passed away peacefully on Friday, January 9, 2026.
He was a veteran music industry entrepreneur and represented a wide range of Hall of Fame and legacy artists during a career spanning more than five decades.
Green began his career at the age of 22 as a booking agent for a New York–based company before launching his own agency shortly thereafter.
He initially focused on booking acts into clubs across Long Island, where he was raised, laying the foundations for what would later become Artists International Management.
In 1984, Green married Janice Green, who became his partner both personally and professionally. In 1992, longtime business partner Mark Lyman joined the company.
Together, they built an extensive roster of internationally recognised artists across classic rock and related genres, including Little River Band, Molly Hatchet, Dr Hook, Kansas, BTO, Nazareth, and others.
Green was widely known within the industry for his entrepreneurial drive and direct, hands-on approach to artist touring and representation. According to the company, he remained closely involved in the business for decades before stepping back due to illness.
While Green battled Alzheimer’s disease, the agency has been overseen by Janice Green and Mark Lyman. Artists International Management confirmed that the company will continue operating under their leadership going forward.
Wayne Nelson of Little River Band paid tribute to Green’s long-standing commitment to the band’s touring activity, stating:“Steve’s Agency, Artists International Management always put Little River Band’s tour dates at the top of their agenda. Since 1996, Steve and AIM have kept the band on the road, sometimes for over 100 shows per year. He will be sorely missed. Rest in Peace Mr. Green!!”
Mark Lyman also issued a personal statement, reflecting on their long partnership:“He was my friend, my family, godfather to my daughter, and a force to be reckoned with for over 50 years in the music business that he loved so much!!”
