The transaction remains subject to approval by the French Competition Authority.

Following completion, Live Nation plans to launch a major upgrade programme at the arena, aimed at increasing its ability to host a higher volume of productions throughout the year. The planned investments are intended to attract more French and international artists and further position Paris and the Île-de-France region as a major hub for live entertainment.

Jacky Lorenzetti, President of Ovalto, said:

“In just ten years, we have made Paris La Défense Arena a unique venue in Europe with a solid business model. Today, a new chapter begins for the arena and its employees. Paris La Défense Arena will be able to leverage the full expertise of Live Nation, the global leader in entertainment, to continue its development.”

Angelo Gopee, Managing Director of Live Nation France, outlined the company’s plans for the venue:

“Our ambition is simple: to make Paris La Défense Arena a venue that welcomes more productions, with the finest facilities for artists, all event producers and promoters and, above all, the audience. This ambition is rooted in a strong commitment to local inclusion, education and cultural access – ensuring major live experiences drive local development and inspire younger generations.”

Frédéric Longuépée, President of Paris La Défense Arena, added:

“Ovalto has created a venue that has become unique in Europe in less than ten years. The arrival of Live Nation promises exciting new opportunities for our clients, employees, and partners, whose support has been crucial in making the arena the icon it is today.”

Since opening in 2017, Paris La Défense Arena has hosted a wide range of major international events, including the Olympic Games, the Tour de France and the Rolex Paris Masters, alongside concerts by global artists such as Bruce Springsteen, The Rolling Stones, Kendrick Lamar, Taylor Swift, Hans Zimmer and Dua Lipa.

With the addition of Paris La Défense Arena, Live Nation expands its presence within the French venue landscape, alongside established operators and venues including LDLC Arena, Accor Arena and Stade de France.

Live Nation stated that it will continue to promote shows across multiple venues and that Paris La Défense Arena will remain open to all promoters.

The planned capacity and infrastructure enhancements are expected to create additional opportunities for event producers, artists and audiences across the region.
