Administered by the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications, Sport and the Arts, Revive Live aims to strengthen original Australian live music by backing festivals, venues and sector organisations.

The grants cover infrastructure upgrades, equipment purchases, programming and marketing costs, artist fees, and initiatives designed to build long-term capacity, including professional development, regional touring circuits and industry partnerships.

Festival beneficiaries include the Harmony Festival (NT), Ability Fest (VIC), Yours & Owls (NSW) and Party in the Paddock (TAS). Venues such as Freo Social (WA) and The Cave Inn (QLD) will receive support for infrastructure improvements and production-related expenses.

“We understand the challenges contributing to cancellations and closures among the live music scene, that’s why the Albanese Labor Government established Revive Live, to provide targeted support,” said Minister for the Arts Tony Burke. He added that venue and festival operators had reported the programme as “the support they need to continue hosting and promoting live music”.

Revive Live was introduced in the 2024–25 federal budget and sits alongside the creation of Music Australia within Creative Australia, supporting the broader development of the country’s contemporary music ecosystem.
