Described as a more intimate alternative to larger international conventions, the EFC limits attendance to encourage open discussion and meaningful connections between delegates. “We look forward to meeting up in Portugal… where we will stay at Ecorkhotel Évora, Alentejo, and have the conference with first-class food, excursions and wellness offers included,” said YOUROPE Chairman Christof Huber.

YOUROPE General Secretary Holger Jan Schmidt added, “It’s always a highlight when the European festival family comes together. The issues are serious and times are tough for our sector, which makes the constructive exchange at the EFC all the more important.”

This year’s programme will feature sessions on topics including the economic impact of festivals, sustainability, fair ticketing, production costs, AI, artistic freedom, insurance, and safety. Delegates will also participate in workshops and excursions exploring Évora, the European City of Culture 2027, and local winery Fitapreta Vinhos.

Speakers announced so far include representatives from major festivals such as Roskilde (DK), Rock am Ring (DE), Øyafestivalen (NO), Superbloom (DE), EXIT (RS), Rock in Rio Lisbon (PT), Boom Festival (PT), and Rock for People (CZ), alongside academics, media and industry organisations such as FEAT and IQ Magazine.

The European Festival Conference aims to inspire and prepare festival professionals for the 2026 season through knowledge exchange and community building.
