Connecting the live music industry
Former UTA partner Brent Weinstein has joined Creative Artists Agency (CAA) in a senior leadership position.
Weinstein will be part of CAA’s senior leadership team, where he will oversee a broad portfolio including digital media, podcasts, gaming, talent ventures, and the agency’s speakers division. He will also play a key role in CAA’s mergers and acquisitions strategy and investment initiatives, while co-managing the agency’s data insights arm, Intell, alongside the tech division.
A veteran of UTA since 2003, Weinstein was instrumental in launching and expanding its digital talent division—one of the first at a major agency. Rising to partner in 2015 and becoming UTA’s first chief innovation officer in 2018, he also led divisions spanning podcasts, live events, emerging platforms, and corporate strategy. He helped steer UTA’s M&A strategy and played a central role in the agency’s expansion across music and speakers.
Among his notable accomplishments, Weinstein collaborated with Brian Robbins (now CEO of Paramount Pictures) to create AwesomenessTV, later sold to Viacom. He also co-founded influencer publishing imprint Keywords Press with Simon & Schuster.
Most recently, Weinstein served as chief development officer at Candle Media, the company led by former Disney executives Tom Staggs and Kevin Mayer. There, he directed corporate growth across properties such as Hello Sunshine and Moonbug, the studio behind CoComelon.
Weinstein holds a business degree from USC’s Marshall School of Business and a law degree from the University of San Diego School of Law.
