VEGA`s board has announced the appointment of Anders Wahrén as its new director following an extensive selection process.

The role is a prominent one within Denmark`s live music scene, overseeing more than 350 annual concerts across VEGA`s three stages.

For nearly three decades, VEGA has been a key player in Danish live music, supporting artists at all stages of their careers, from emerging talents to established performers.

Anders Wahrén brings 25 years of experience in the live music industry. Originally from Roskilde, he began his career at the local venue Gimle and later joined Roskilde Festival as a volunteer in 1996.

After four years with Live Nation and Copenhell, he returned to Roskilde Festival in 2011, where he has served as program director for the past 14 years. During this time, he managed the festival`s music, art, and activism initiatives, as well as its stage development and strategic direction.

Incoming VEGA CEO, Anders Wahrén:

Anders Wahrén will join the management team responsible for organizing and executing over 350 concerts annually at VEGA`s Store VEGA, Lille VEGA, and Ideal Bar. The rest of VEGA`s leadership team includes CFO Vivian Ment, Program and Development Manager Lene Vive Christiansen, Communications Manager Søren Gaden, Commercial Manager Louise Juul Dalby, and Production Manager Kevin Le Geyt.

When the transition to the new director is complete, VEGA will bid farewell this summer to Steen Jørgensen, who has served as CEO for over 14 years. Steen Jørgensen took over leadership during a period in VEGA`s history when its finances were under threat, and its future was uncertain. He will continue to contribute his extensive experience and insight as VEGA’s representative on the board of Odd Productions, which was selected by Copenhagen Municipality last autumn to manage Amager Bio and Beta.
