The Federal Foundation LiveKultur is developing the "Live Music Fund Germany," a proposed funding initiative to support Germany`s grassroots music scene.

Inspired by the UK’s efforts to introduce a voluntary ticket levy for live music, the German fund aims to bolster small concerts, first tours by newcomers, and festivals, ensuring cultural diversity and financial stability.

According to LiveKultur, Germany’s club culture faces severe challenges, with over half of clubs surveyed by LiveKomm warning they may close within a year without financial aid. Rising energy and production costs are straining the sector.

"The Live Music Fund Germany represents more than financial support—it’s a commitment to preserving cultural diversity and investing in our dynamic music scene," said Felix Grädler (pictured), Board Member of the Federal Foundation LiveKultur.

Chairman Karsten Schölermann encouraged stakeholders to collaborate on sustainable solutions, ensuring that live music remains accessible to artists and fans alike.
