Quincy Jones, the legendary musician, composer, producer, and songwriter whose career spanned seven decades and included iconic projects from Michael Jackson’s Thriller to frequent collaborations with Frank Sinatra, the production of The Color Purple film adaptation, and some of the most memorable music in film and TV, has passed away at 91.
His death was first reported by the Associated Press, citing his publicist, Arnold Robinson.
"Tonight, with full but broken hearts, we must share the news of our father and brother Quincy Jones` passing," Jones` family said in a statement to AP. "Although this is an immense loss for our family, we celebrate the remarkable life he lived, knowing there will never be another like him."
