Live Nation, the Cannes City Hall, and the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès have announced a partnership for the 2025 edition of MIDEM, a prominent global event in the music industry.
Drawing on their experience in music, entertainment, and event management, the three entities aim to address contemporary challenges in the industry while reinventing the MIDEM format.
The event is expected to serve as an international platform for the exchange of ideas, collaboration, and exploration of new trends. MIDEM 2025 will bring together key industry players, renowned artists, and innovators to discuss the future of music.
In addition to professional networking opportunities, the event is positioned as a celebration of music and entertainment, offering participants an immersive experience.
Angelo Gopee , General Manager of Live Nation France, said: “ Live music now occupies a central place in the music industry, constituting both a challenge and an opportunity. To ensure the prosperity of this sector, it is essential to support key structures such as concert producers, performance venues, theaters and festivals. These players, at the heart of the cultural scene, face major challenges such as parity, inclusion, diversity, parenthood, as well as the transmission of knowledge. Our commitment to a sustainable and environmentally friendly approach is at the heart of our strategy. The values carried by MIDEM 2025, such as sustainability and innovation, are deeply rooted in our DNA, and it is our responsibility to embody and promote them" .
David Lisnard , Mayor of Cannes, emphasizes: "MIDEM, an international event that is both qualitative and popular, returns to Cannes in 2025 to bring together music professionals - live and recorded - and music lovers. For this third edition, the event is gaining momentum. It promises rich debates through a wide selection of conferences and round tables and also offers qualifying training for young professionals and students. Concerts, accessible to the greatest number, will constitute a major part of the event. Thanks to the synergy between established professionals, young artists and students from the Méliès campus around MIDEM, Cannes cultivates cross-fertilization and continues its "Cannes On Air" strategy in order to remain the global crossroads of creativity. "
Jean-Michel Arnaud , President of the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès de Cannes: "The Palais des Festivals et des Congrès de Cannes is proud to host this new edition of MIDEM, which has established itself as the world`s musical epicentre, in perfect harmony with our purpose: Welcoming the World Sustainably. This major cultural event fully reflects our three pillars (connect, reveal and care) and plays a key role in the attractiveness of Cannes in the winter period, by attracting an international audience of professionals and artists. In 2025, we will make MIDEM a crossroads of exchanges, innovations and discoveries, while embodying responsible and sustainable practices, essential for the future of the music industry."
