Dutch venue adopts Fair Pay standard for artists

013 Poppodium Tilburg has announced that all Dutch artists performing at the venue will now be paid in line with the Fair Pay standard. The policy takes immediate effect and applies to all domestic acts booked at the Tilburg-based venue.

The move makes 013 the first regular pop venue in the Netherlands to structurally implement Fair Pay for Dutch artists.

While the Dutch festival Roadburn Festival previously adopted the standard, 013’s decision marks its application within a year-round venue setting.

As the Netherlands’ largest pop venue, 013 said it views the step as part of its broader responsibility within the live music ecosystem.

Managing director Frens Frijns noted that the venue’s scale enables it to take the lead and set an example for the sector, adding that the decision is intended to support a healthy and future-proof pop industry. He also referenced the role of Ketentafel Popmusici in providing guidance and insights that helped inform the policy.

By adopting Fair Pay, 013 aligns with wider Dutch industry efforts to improve working conditions and ensure sustainable remuneration for artists.
