US Promoter TempleLive Cancels Concerts and Halts Operations
US-based concert promoter and venue operator TempleLive has cancelled all scheduled performances at its six locations and appears to have ceased operations, according to Hypebot.
The cancellations affect venues in Cleveland and Columbus, Ohio; Fort Smith, Arkansas; Peoria, Illinois; and Wichita, Kansas. Dozens of artists, including Sparks, Waxahatchee, Bill Fox, The Waterboys, and James McMurtry, had upcoming shows at the venues.
In Cleveland, House of Blues and other local venues are reportedly working to take on some of the cancelled concerts.
Artist representatives told Hypebot last week that they had encountered issues with payment following TempleLive shows.
According to multiple local reports, TempleLive staff have also been laid off. Venue websites and the company’s main site now display only basic contact details, directing ticket holders to Ticketmaster for refunds.
TempleLive was founded by Rogers, Arkansas-based Beaty Capital Group, with a focus on acquiring and renovating historic Masonic temples for use as live entertainment venues. Rob Thomas, a live music veteran, was appointed president of TempleLive in 2021. He left earlier this year but rejoined the company three months ago as vice president of programming.
So far, TempleLive and its leadership have not issued an official statement regarding the cancellations or the company’s future.
