Live Nation acquires leading Dominican Republic Promoter

Live Nation Entertainment is broadening its footprint in Latin America with the acquisition of SD Concerts, a leading live entertainment company based in the Dominican Republic.

The deal marks a strategic move by Live Nation to strengthen its presence in a region experiencing significant growth in live music and touring.

Established in 2001, SD Concerts has organized high-profile concerts featuring both Latin and international artists across several countries, including Aruba, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Panama, and Puerto Rico. The company also operates a ticketing platform, which will now integrate into the Ticketmaster system as part of the acquisition.

Michael Rapino, CEO & President, Live Nation Entertainment, said: “Saymon and SD Concerts have built a remarkable business rooted in deep local knowledge and a passion for live music. We’re joining forces with a proven regional leader to help even more Latin artists reach global audiences and connect international acts with fans across Latin America.”

Saymon Diaz, Founder & CEO of SD Concerts, who will continue to lead the business, said: “Live music is thriving across the region, and we’re proud of the role SD Concerts has played in that growth. Partnering with Live Nation gives us the global infrastructure to scale even further and supports the next generation of Latin talent. This partnership will bring bigger shows to more locations and create even more unforgettable live music experiences for fans in the Dominican Republic and across Latin America.”

According to Live Nation, fan attendance at its events in the region increased by more than 25% in the first quarter of 2025. The company also noted a global rise in the popularity of non-English language artists, who now make up a growing share of its top tours.

The move reflects Latin America`s increasing influence in the global concert market and Live Nation’s continued investment in expanding access to live music experiences worldwide.
