New Booker for Danish venue

Danish venue Skråen has announced that Troels Højgaard Sørensen will join the venue as its new booker and program manager, effective February 1, 2025. Sørensen succeeds the previous booker Signe Bjerg, who stepped down in the spring of 2024. Troels Højgaard Sørensen is a familiar name in Aalborg’s cultural scene, having served as the manager of 1000Fryd, a local music venue and cultural hub, since 2017. His experience in booking and managing events, as well as his knowledge of the local music environment, were key factors in his selection for the role. Speaking on the appointment, Skråen’s leader, John Pedersen, said: “There were many qualified applicants for the position of booker and program manager at Skråen. Among the highly qualified candidates we interviewed, the hiring committee unanimously agreed that Troels Højgaard Sørensen is the right fit for the role. Troels` extensive experience as a booker at 1000Fryd will undoubtedly benefit Skråen in continuing and refreshing the program profile that has brought the venue so much success, ensuring it remains Northern Jutland’s favorite concert venue. His deep knowledge of the local music scene and Aalborg Municipality was also a decisive factor in our choice. On behalf of Skråen’s staff, board, and our many volunteers, I can say that we’re all very excited to work with Troels in the future.” Troels Højgaard Sørensen shared his thoughts on the new position: “I’ve greatly enjoyed my time at 1000Fryd, but I also feel it’s time for me to move on. Skråen is an institution I’ve always respected deeply, and I’m thrilled to become part of its story while continuing to shape the music scene in Aalborg. During my time at 1000Fryd, I’ve learned so much, which I’ll bring with me to Skråen. I’m ready to manage a venue on all levels and hope to make a lasting impact on Skråen’s broader vision.
