Coldplay settles legal dispute with Ex-Manager

Coldplay has settled a high-profile legal dispute with their former manager, Dave Holmes, agreeing to pay a seven-figure sum. This resolution comes after Holmes sued the band for £10 million, following their split in 2022 after more than two decades of collaboration. The dispute began when Holmes claimed he was owed £10 million in unpaid commission for Coldplay’s yet-to-be-released tenth and eleventh albums. However, Coldplay, fronted by Chris Martin, countersued for £14 million. They alleged that Holmes had lost control of the budget for their Music of the Spheres world tour, resulting in an overspend of £17.5 million. Legal documents filed at London’s High Court revealed that in May, Coldplay and Holmes reached an undisclosed seven-figure settlement. This agreement was made to prevent private details from being disclosed in court. Phil Harvey, a long-time friend of Chris Martin who helped fund Coldplay`s first recording and was once known as the band`s fifth member, has now taken over the management team.
