The Boho Sub Band formed in 1999 around the noodling of singer/songwriter Sy Badham. There was an Andy Warhol's 'Factory' ethos about what they did. Working with old friends from university and artists they picked up along the way, The Bohos created their own style and produced videos, t-shirts, posters etc.
The Band soon attracted media and record company interest with a succession of demo tapes that were passed around London clubs and bars. After only a few months in existance The Bohos where signed by Mercury records and they began recording their debut album. Unfortunately it was never going to see the light of day. After a raucous Glastonbury 2000 performance and a couple of well received limited release singles The Boho Sub Band were dropped by Mercury and plomptly disappeared off the face of the planet.
