RACHEL HUGGINS
Rachel is a singer, songwriter & musician and has completed the process of recording her first album ''21st Century Love Story'' released indepently, spring/summer 2009. The album is a collection of produced tracks and live recordings featuring some of London’s finest musicians including Alcyona Mick (Piano) and Andrew McLean (Drums). It also features a duet written by and performed with Kevin Mark Trail. Rachel is now working on her second album and has worked with Eric Adjei for Dynamix Productions on 3 tracks and will include features and collaborations with a hub of UK talent. Rachel loves collaborating with other artist and is currently doing backing vocals for DJ Vadim and his new band the Electric at his London shows which form oart of his European tour. www.djvadim.com Her main instruments are Piano and voice. Her musical style is grounded in gospel, soul and jazz. Alongside her repertoire of love songs, her lyrical content is inspired by the American soul movement and gospel era encouraging hope and aspirations for greater things and trying to promote songs with deeper meanings. Rachel has performed in numerous venues around London including Sound, Jazz Cafe, Powers Acoustic Rooms, The Pigalle Club and HMS President (1918) She graduated university with a BA (HONS) in Commercial Music, which focused on music business, production and sociology. Rachel has a passion for both education and entertainment and has been fusing both areas for over 5 years working in schools and sharing her talents directing a gospel choir in a local secondary school. Rachel also started a successful live music night called Hidden Treasure, nominated for Best Live Night at the Indy Awards. Hidden Treasure has been on a break but will return in 2010. Rachel is also a member of the newly formed ‘Lifted Voices Choir’ who have been tipped for great things 2009 and beyond. Rachel loves music and aims to be a successful British recording artist as well as a writer to the stars. So far she has been fortunate to have one of her songs recorded by Leona Lewis who went on to winning 2006''s X-Factor competition.
