Born in 1980 in Wiesbaden, Charlotte Balzereit received the Master''s Degree in Performance from the Munich Music Academy.While still a student, she won First Prize in the Lyons Harp Competition, the Lily Laskine Competition (Paris), and the F.J.Reinl Competition (Vienna).

Balzereit is a regular participant at major German festivals such as Schleswig-Holstein, Rheingau, and Ludwigsburg.She is active chamber musician, frequently performing with the "ensemble recherché," and has appeared as soloist with the Freiburg Symphony Orchestra and the Sinfonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks, among others.

In 2001, Charlotte Balzereit was named Principal Harpist of the Vienna Philharmonic, and her CD, "Harfen-Fantasien" (Fantasies for Harp) was recently released on GENUIN Musikproduktion.
