METAFIVE are a Japanese Electronica/Synth supergroup originally formed in 2014 to be a live backing band to Yukihiro Takahashi, of Yellow Magic Orchestra, on his tour that year under the name 高橋幸宏 & METAFIVE. In that same year, they released the live album and video TECHNO RECITAL and the single Split Spirit. Shortly thereafter, the band renamed itself as just METAFIVE.

In addition to Yellow Magic Orchestra’s Takahashi Yukihiro, their line-up consists of famous producer Oyamada Keigo, known by his moniker Cornelius, former Denki Groove member Sunahara Yoshinori, renowned DJ and Electronica artist TOWA TEI, multi-instrumentalist Gondo Tomohiko, and the the critically acclaimed singer/songwriter and TV score producer Leo Imai.
