«That's mesmerizing! We wanna hear that group! ”, This is how Radio Woodstock / USA reacted to“ Kingdom Of The Upright Man ”. An album for which the Basel singer-songwriter went to New York and put the acoustic guitar aside.

He could have stayed true to his recipe and continued as usual: radio-friendly pop with acoustic guitar. But then BAUM went to New York, soaked up the energy of the Big Apple and wrote an album in two weeks with mighty drums, driving basses and cranked guitar amps.



The result is called "Kingdom Of The Upright Man". An album that shows the energy of a man who has learned to fight proudly and upright for his ideals. “In these fast-moving times, music is the best way to challenge superficiality. I don't do art shit or background doodles, I write honest songs that reflect what I think and feel, ”he says. "My stories should encourage people to pursue their goals, get lost in my sound and find themselves in my lyrics."



BAUM's musical career includes tours as support for artists such as Van Morrison and The John Butler Trio, five Ireland and two Germany tours, appearances at the Openair St. Gallen, Gurtenfestival, Voices Festival, the Baloise Session, Summerstage Basel and around 300 concerts in Switzerland, Germany, Ireland and the USA. As an artist, BAUM has released four albums and three EPs so far. Seven of his songs received placements in the US documentary series “Take a Seat: Egypt”, his single “Home One Day” was featured on the soundtrack of the German cinema comedy “Crazy about Fixi” in October 2016, and with his current album “Kingdom Of The Upright Man », BAUM made it into the Swiss album charts for the first time.
