Eddy Smith and the 507 have beaten thousands of other acts to be named the UK’s best new talent of 2015. The London-based outfit impressed a panel of industry experts to win the Critics’ Choice Award in the national competition. The judges were Huey Morgan, Fun Lovin’ Criminals front man and BBC 6 Music presenter, Max Helyer, Guitarist for rock band You Me At Six, and Matt Mason, chief editor of Q Music Magazine.

As multi- instrumentalists, Eddy Smith & The 507 write, arrange and produce their music together. They are a Soulful blend of Blues, Rock and Pop with five musicians from varying musical backgrounds. Their influences range from the likes of Ray Charles and Otis Redding, to Joe Cocker and The Eagles.

Their music has been picked up by radio DJ’s all over the UK, including those at the BBC. Their latest single Strangers (Since I’ve Been Loving You) will be featured on the cover CD of The Blues Mag, sold worldwide, they will be featured in the magazine’s “Bands To Watch” section.

Earlier this year Eddy and The 507 played events during The Go Pro Mountain Games held in Colorado USA. They plan to return next year. They headlined Rye International Jazz and Blues Festival and made appearances at Wilkestock and London Jazz Fest.

In the meantime they will continue to play around London and the UK whilst writing and recording their new album. With the Critic’s Choice Award under their belt, and their album well on the way, Eddy Smith & The 507 are looking forward to the year to come
