Oluf is the alter ego of Norwegian comedian Arthur Arntzen. Through more than 30 years, Oluf commented on the northern Norwegian soul and humour, and is considered an icon, although a stereotype, for the people of Northern Norway. Most of his skits are based on Oluf's mocking of his son Lars, his wife Emma (an unseen character), his friend Karlsen or the local police force (represented by fellow comedian Tore Skoglund).

Arntzen retired the popular character in the mid 90's, but in 2006, he made a one-time comeback on a show made by Skoglund.
