DJ Mark van Dale

(born: Marc Pols, 13-11-'64) started his musical career in 1985 as a commercial radio DJ. At the end of the eighties Mark discovered a new sound from Detroit (US), called 'Techno house'. Although at first this style of music did not get very popular in the Netherlands, it definately cought his interest. In those days Mark worked at the Rotterdam record shop called 'Mid-Town' so it was easy for him to develop a huge record collection.

In 1990 house-music became more popular in Holland and especially the Belgian sound by producers like Frank de Wulf and Praga Khan influenced Mark in a big way. He started producing 'Gabber-tracks' together with his producer-pal Erik de Koning (DJ Enrico). Among the tracks were the succesful 'Utter Utter' by King Dale and the Japanese top track 'Michael Jackson is in heaven' by Obscure FM. Looking back on this producin g episode Mark says: 'I think of it now as some kind a joke, at that time it felt good but I wouldn't produce a gabbertrack nowadays. There no real feelings in it if you ask me.'

At this moment Mark and Erik are one of Europe's leading club producers. Over the years they've produced tracks for well known labels like iT Records, Colors and Mark's very own Celebrative Records and Massive Drive Recordings. Beside's producing they've remixed tracks for artists like Vincent de Moor, DJ Jean, Vengaboys, Klubbheads, A-Buna-E, Winkki Wax Project, Sharada House Gang, Greenfield, S-Factor, Alison Limerick, Adeva, 2 Brothers on the 4th Floor, Tales from the Crib and Rainbox. The last two even made it to the Dutch National Singles Charts.

Besides producing Mark is also one of Hollands most wanted DJ's. His club- DJ career started at the famous iT-club in Amsterdam, where his good friend DJ JEAN asked him to stand in for a couple of times. After those times his DJ-career started moving rapidly. Nowadays you can find him every weekend at different clubs and parties all over the world. He played in Germany, Belgium, Switserland, Isra'l, Spain, France and ofcourse the Netherlands where he makes the partycrowd scream for more! Clubs and parties in Holland are amongst others: Opera (Arnhem), Asta (Den Haag), iT (Amsterdam), Escape(Amsterdam), Veronica Beachpower, MTC, Intenz, Nighttown and more.

As a result of his popularity, various record companies asked Mark to do a mix compilation CD for them. The 'Celebrative Mix Vol. 1 & 2, 'Faces of Ho vuse' and the double CD 'Astatic Vol. 2' became bestsellers.

Nowadays Mark van Dale is still going strong as a DJ and as a producer.'Water Verve' by Mark van Dale with Enrico became a big hit and charted in the single charts of Germany, U.K., U.S.A.(Billboard), Belgium and Holland. They just released it's follow up: 'Power Woman' which has huge expectations as well. Brandnew is 'Raise your hands up in the air' produced by the Klubbheads DJ-team vs DJ Mark van Dale. The videoclips of these chartbreakers are highly rotated on MTV, Viva and the Dutch TMF.
