Geir Vestad, Hamar Arbeiderblad.

Veslemøy Solberg is an artist, a writer of poetic texts and a composer. During the years 1997 – 2003 she had, together with Sven Ohrvik, the editorial and musical responsibility for the TV series Antikviteter & Snurrepiperier on NRK 1. At the most, the series had more than one million viewers, that is one fourth of the Norwegian population. Veslemøy Solberg has also participated in many radio and TV programmes.

Veslemøy Solberg has released ten solo albums with texts and music of her own, as well as of others. She is an experienced show and concert artist, and has her own record company, Nordicae. She has a MBA from The Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration in Bergen, and a MA in Scandinavian language and literature from The University of Oslo.

Veslemøy Solberg has written many articles about literary subjects, and she has received excellent reviews for her song texts. When her CD Løvehjerte appeared in 2004, Geir Vestad in the newspaper Hamar Arbeiderblad wrote: ”With even more clarity than before, Veslemøy presents herself as an original song artist with a distinct profile.” And Marianne Lystrup in Vårt Land called the record wonderful: ”Løvehjerte is quite simply a wonderful record with strong and honest texts, and with very enjoyable music, characterized by rock, pop, jazz and ballads.”

Over the years, Veslemøy Solberg has received several prizes and awards. In 2006, she was awarded a one–year working scholarship by Tekstforfatterfondet. The same year she and the Norwegian ballad singer Felix Johansen were nominated to the Norwegian Spellemann Award for the album Eventyret om Hanna.

Gullmåne is Veslemøy’s 10th album. The CD has been getting numerous great reviews.
