Honndalstausene is a Norwegian all female folk-group started in 1987 that is active both as recording artists and live performers. All of them play the traditional Norwegian Hardanger fiddle, a traditional instrument in Norway. Many of them play other instruments.

In 1988 -- just one year after they formed -- they were nominated for the "Spelemannsprisen", Norway's version of the Grammy award, for best folk music release. In 1994, they performed at the XVII Olympic Winter Games in Lillehammer, Norway.

They've released four recordings: Honndalstausene (1988), Strengeleik (1992), Frie Former (2000) and Gamle Nordfjord (2008).

"Honndalstausene" means "The Girls From Hornindal" in the dialect of the Hornin valley in Nordfjord, Norway. The members of Honndalstausene are Synnøve Hjellbakk Hole, Bente Storbakken, Gunnhild Sindre, Gunn Sølvi Gausemel, Tone Lien Dyrkorn, Torunn Raftevold Rue and Marianne Tomasgård.
