They were originally conceived to provide a theatrics approach to rock music, also to enhance the BIG sound approach of the hand clap and thumping synchronised drum beat that were all part of the Glam era.
As we all came to know, the Glitter Band and John himself were very talented musicians who were already very seasoned and experienced in their careers.
In 1974, John wrote the first solo single for the Glitter Band. the song was "Angel Face".
It went on to become a million seller world wide. More hits followed. "Just For You", "Let´s Get Together Again", both top ten hits. The fourth record, "Goodbye My Love" reached number 2 in the Brittish charts.
Between 1974 and 1982 the Glitter Band recorded and released over 15 singles and a number of albums with great success.
