Classical/Opera
Bengt Tribukait, Organist and harpsichordist. He was born 1964 in Stockholm. His first organ studies were for the Stockholm organist Bengt Berg. Later he studied for Hans Fagius and Torvald Torén, both teaching at The Royal college of Music in Stockholm. He passed his Solist Diploma in 1992 at the Music college at Piteå (Northern Sweden). In 1989 he won third prize and also a special award for best registration at the International Organist Competition in Lahti, Finland. In 1992 he won first prize at a corresponding event in Dublin, Ireland. Bengt Tribukait is also in professional demand as harpsichordist and pianist. He is not only a brilliant soloist but also an outstanding accompanist and performer of chamber music. His repertoire stretches from early right up to contemporary music. He has recorded music by J S Bach on the Cahman-organ (from 1730) in Drottningholm castle church just outside Stockholm and where the Royal family now lives.
We have the pleasure to present a BACH programme performed on the exclusive little baroque organ from 1730 in the chapel of the Drottningholm palace near Stockholm.
It was built by the most outstanding Swedish organ-maker of its time, Johan Niclas CAHMAN. Considering that it is a small instrument (only 1 manual, 6 registers), one gets amazed by the great variations in sound, which are tastefully revealed by the organist Bengt TRIBUKAIT.
