This is hard-nosed, blues/rock for real men and women. The name The Midnight Blues could indicate something like the Venetian blinds down, despondency in the golden glow of the bourbon bottle at midnight and gentle strum in loneliness. This is not how it works, when the name is a synonym with the Copenhagen trio The Midnight Blues, that hits it off with the blues based, heavy rock with a bite in it, as if they still thought that drum'n'bass is something to be used when you are playing rock and roll.

If The Midnight Blues has never heard or heard of techno, house, soft core or Aqua, you can be sure that they know their ZZ Top, Harley Davidson, Cadillac, Cowboys and wild women in the local roadhouse.

In other words we are riding high on the fat, well oiled, masculine rock machine, which, with consequence and confidence, are providing heavy rhythms and intense riffs.

Behind the drums the trio presents Søren Berlev, who still has his long blond hair hanging around him. Here the drummer from Gasolin has found himself a very hard job, but he is providing a well-grown and solid base for the stabile stone masoning of Carsten Olsen on the bass and the cannonade of Peter Domtorp´s guitar. The said Domtorp is also in charge of the Americanised vocal.

The Midnight Blues is playing this music fit, authentic and tight. Due to this one can easily forgive them the fact, that "Texas Blues" is more or less a rip off of "My Head's In Mississippi" by ZZ Top, and that the band is pulling the bike out of the garage for another round with "Born To Be Wild".

The band has to be a feast live, stay tuned the next time they are sending out invitations to a boogie dance at your local pub in your parish.
