No multi-tiered stack of keyboards in sight -- he all but flies from one end of the stage to the other, his controller slung like a Strat. His smile beams as he throttles the ribbon strip and mod lever, squeezing out harmonics, pitchbends, and filter sweeps. It´s clear that there´s no containing his enthusiasm, either. He's having a hell of a good time.

Freedom is a concept near and dear to Delmar Brown. This much is obvious when you see him play.

Free features Delmar´s regular band laying down deep grooves with influences from many countries like: Brazil, Africa, the Caribbean and USA.

The songs also pull together his diverse experiences playing funk, blues, and pop, gleaned from years of recording and touring with the likes of Sting, Bruce Springsteen, Miles Davis, Peter Gabriel, Sonny Rollins, Hiram Bullock, James Blood Ulmer, Jaco Pastorius, Gil Evans, Pat Martino and many many more.

Completely under his own control, the music is free of categorization and the interference of major label repertoire hassles as well.

When Delmar plays, the only thing that keeps him on the ground is an instrument with a short power cord. He runs, he moves, he uses the whole stage – don’t tie him down. Onstage he uses the Illuminator, the prototype for a four-zone controller that Fatar built according to Delmar’s design.
