Jorge Cordero: singer, composer and director of the orchestra "Los Gran Daneses" which is the most famous salsa orchestra in Denmark and possibly the best in all of Europe.
Jorge Cordero, who was born in Cuba and is the descendant of generations of musicians and singers, arrived in Denmark, at age 16, with his mother who had married a Dane.
During the early years in Denmark, Jorge was a member of several well-known rock groups but became more and more interested in the music of his ancestry. He thus decided to form his own orchestra in order to perform the Salsa for which he is now known.
The various musicians in the orchestra were selected from the very best in Denmark.
After two years of hard work, including study trips and appearances in Cuba, Latin America, and The United States, Jorge and L.G. D. received an invitation to perform in the internationally renowned Calle Ocho Festival in Miami. Their enormous talent so surprised the public, as well as the organizers of the event, resulting in a contract and the subsequent recording of their first CD "Rompiendo el Hielo" in October, `93. This incredible hit stayed on the American Tropical Charts for 7 months.
