VOB (or Voice Of Baceprot (Baceprot (pronounced bachey-PROT) means “noise” in Sundanese, local language spoken in the West Java province where they originated)) are an all-female metal/alternative/thrash band from Indonesia, both the largest moslem-populated country in the world and at the same time one of the biggest "metal countries", with a lot of metal bands and a lot of metal addicts.
In early 2021, VOB returned to the studio to work on “God, Allow Me (Please) To Play Music”, their first original single in three years after “School Revolution.” Also produced by Stephan Santoso, the highly anticipated single was released on August 17, 2021 to worldwide fanfare. Heavy yet melodic and catchy at the same time, the single showcased each member’s musical development and hard work. Musically, “God, Allow Me (Please) to Play Music” is the embodiment of the results from explorations that Marsya, Siti, and Widi embarked on in uncharted musical territories. Of the song, Marsya said:
“We want people who listen to this song to become more tolerant towards others. God does not belong to just one person or one group of people. God belongs to anyone who believes in Him. So, everyone has a right to be creative, create, and take responsibility for their creations given by the God that he or she believes in.”
