Danish showcase festival SPOT cancelled
The impact of the Corona-crisis is significant in the whole Danish live sector and with the uncertainty about whether or not events in the size of SPOT can, may - or should - take place in the time of its original happening, SPOT Festival’s management and board finds it unrealistic to go ahead with this ambitious festival this year.

As the oldest and biggest showcase festival for new music from Denmark and the Nordics, SPOT is an important meeting point, where international business and press meets music and each other.

But uncertainty grows internationally as well. The organisers have already received so many cancellations by international agents, press, publishers and festival promoters, that this part of SPOT‘s work will simply not make sense this year.

SPOT reimburses all tickets for this year‘s festival - alternatively, you can decide to exchange your ticket for SPOT festival 2021. That way, you have already secured your admissions for next year‘s music festival in Aarhus.

Referring to the cancelled festival, SPOT‘s chairman of the board Poul Martin Bonde, says:

„It is very upsetting, that we have to stop going ahead with SPOT Festival 2020 in this way. But we will return stronger in 2021 - and by arranging some significant events in the course of the summer and fall, SPOT‘s mark on the Danish musik industry won‘t be missed completely this year. A big thank you goes out to the audience, that has already bought tickets, to all musicians and professionals that have announced their attendance and to our amazing staff that has worked hard to get everything ready for this year‘s festival, and to all the volunterrs who were ready to create another very special festival, which SPOT certainly is.“
