UK Hevy Fest cancelled
UK festival Hevy has announced the cancellation of its 2016 festival and has announced there will be no more.

In a statement, the organisers of the festival said: “Hevy Fest is no more. After 6 years of incredible bands, legendary hangs, and a lot of monkeys - we’re sorry to announce that Hevy Fest is pulling the plug.”

They went on to explain that the festival had become "financially untenable". The difficulties arose from a combination of factors, including Port Lympne being unable to continue hosting the event, more and more exclusives enforced each year leading to difficulties confirming the final headliner, and the pressure to offer good value with spiralling costs.

The organisers added: “The odds are stacked against anyone taking on the challenge, and they have proven too great for us to overcome. There is a great community of Hardcore, Punk and Metal supporters in the UK and we hope that other small festivals will be able to grow into this space, and to deliver the event we aspired to.”

Additions to Hevy’s line-up, including Neck Deep, Saves The Day and Defeater, were announced at the beginning of April. They would have joined headliners Enter Shikari, The Bronx, La Dispute, Refused, Sikth and While She Sleeps.
