Vip-Booking Presents: Profiling Of A Dance-Event
by Manfred Tari - edited by Allan McGowan

ADE reports a last-minute boost in the numbers of new registrations. Currently the figures stand at more than a 1000 participants and the organisers expect a final total of around 1200 registrations for the Amsterdam Dance Event. According to a convention spokesman the surge of late registrations has come particularly from France, Southern Europe (Italy, Spain, Portugal) and the US. With the agenda and programs now set, key note speakers confirmed and time schedules figured out, it appears that this business event is ready to do business.

With the record business suspected of being an endangered species these days, the live music business is receiving more and more interest and attention. This certainly goes for the ADE and for the very first time there will be a special Live Music Dance Conference. This will feature special debates and topics that refer to the specialized business of delivering 3D entertainment in real time for real beings.

Vip-Booking.com, as one of the leading information sources for the live music business takes the opportunity to present in collaboration with the LMDC the panel: Profiling Of A Dance-Event. Vip News Chief editor Allan McGowan will host a panel, featuring:

Carsten Helmich, booker and DJ of Juicy Beats and Club Trinidat (Germany) set some milestones with unique concepts like ‘Trinidat On Ice’ and the sold out shows of the Juicy Beats-Festival (more than 20.000 visitors): Niels de Geus, Managing Director of Dance Valley in the Netherlands, a 40.000 capacity dance event with 150 participating acts,: Chris Yuen from Cool World in the US , responsible for events like Cyberfest and the Ultramusicfestival: Alev Caglar, one of the founders of Hip Productions in Turkey , one of the producers of a version of Creamfield on the Bospherus.

These four international players will share their experience and observations on what it takes to set up a proper dance event. In comparison to rock events, which ‘only’ take some expensive and established acts, one or more stages, reasonable promotion and logistics, the set up of dance event involves some further and very different considerations.

For those who are not able to attend ADE/LDMC this year, Vip News will report on the results of the conferences but nevertheless, Vip News recommends personal attendance by our readers from the Dance music industry.
