The theme for this year's ADE is 'where to go': day program panels, talk shows and keynotes focus on what new possibilities, aspects and concepts there are for the international dance community. A special talk show will focus on new concepts, new possibilities and new developments for electronic and dance community to do business. Other topics include the Changing Role of Music Publishing and A&R. Additionally; there are dedicated panels on the role of the producer and several panels for the live electronic events industry, including Learning from the Rock Community. Three special meetings will focus on doing business in France, the UK and the US while there are also two surprise panels: Shake that Booty and Football vs. Dance. Shake that Booty explores the way sex sells records and whether we should be happy with that. In Football vs. Dance ex-international and football broker Marciano Vink and Damian Harris (Skint, uk) explore whether or not football and dance are basically all the same thing…
This year's ADE keynote speaker is Junkie XL a.k.a. Tom Holkenborg, responsible for the 2002 dance version of Elvis Presley's A Little Less Conversation. Jason Bentley, music supervisor of The Matrix blockbuster movie will be interviewing him.
Several panels and meetings at the ADE are organised as part of Live Dance Music Conference, a specialised conference within the ADE that is dedicated to managements, festival organisers, club promoters etc. and features special meetings and panels on live event music topics, plus a number of networking and business facilities. The Live Dance Music Conference tackles challenges on the live side of electronic music, discusses issues on taxes and author rights, DJ fees, creative concepts, 'learning from the rock community' and more.
