The Grande Monsieur of the German concert landscape is well know for his passion for Jazz music. Karsten Jahnke Konzertdirektion has recently inked exclusive agency contracts to handle bookings for Jocelyn B. Smith, Till Brönner, Nils Landgren and Jacky Terrasson. As a consequence he has also revamped the concert series 'JAZZnights'. Agent in charge is Aissata Hartmann, who has worked for Jahnke since 1990. When Vip News asked her for her plans for the new artists she said: "I expect to find not only an audience in Germany, but I am sure there is also interest for these artists on a European level. As well as the booking of tours, I would also like to book them at the relevant festivals in the upcoming season".

The agreements confirm that Konzertdirektion Jahnke will handle the exclusive booking of Till Brönner and Jocelyn B. Smith for Europe, Nils Landgren for the rest of Europe except the Scandinavian territories and Jacky Terrasson in Germany.

In terms of the market relevance for Jazz artists Hartmann says: "Currently it is not a great time for high quality music. Within the frame of the concert brand 'JAZZnights' we have many big names that are well known Jazz-Artists but do not always pull the size of audience we would like. I hope that working with these young artists we have a good chance reversing the downward trend".

The JAZZnights concert series will start in October with a double bill featuring Nils Landgren together with Jacky Terrasson. The series will be continued in February and March 2004 with Till Brönner and Joy Denalane. The touring policy will be to book shows into high profile venues and locations only.
