 As
a showcase festival EuroSonic serves as a means to promote
upcoming European talent to the media, the European live music
industry, the Dutch music industry and of course the public.
EuroSonic will be held for the 9th consecutive time in the
very lively city centre of Groningen. EuroSonic takes place
in over 25 venues, with capacities varying from 150 to 1000,
all within a five-minute walk of each other. On 2 nights over
120 of the hottest European rock, pop and dance acts are presented,
drawing huge media- industry- and audience attendance.
EuroSonic has been a sold out event for many
years now. In co-operation with the EBU and Dutch National
Radio 3FM, EuroSonic is aired on Holland’s national
radio and -via satellite- to several other European territories.
In 2003, EuroSonic was recorded by 20 public radio stations,
creating an audience of millions.

*"EuroSonic was the start of all Kaizers
Orchestra's activities outside Scandinavia. It is extraordinary
that a band singing in local Norwegian dialect can be booked
for festivals such as Rock Am Ring/Rock Im Park (D), Haldern
(D) Lowlands (NL) and so on, just based on their performance
at EuroSonic and the promoters' enthousiastic response. It
shows the importance of a strong live presence and being at
the right place at the right time" says Eivind Brydoy,
manager of Kaizers Orchestra.

*Thanks to the EuroSonic gig Ska P (E) got shows
at major festivals such as Open Air St. Gallen (CH), Pukkelpop
(B), Parkpop (NL) and Lowlands (NL). Bernard Batzen (Azimuth,
F): "With the success of Ekova on EuroSonic 2001 and
Ska P last year we can't fail on EuroSonic 2004 because, as
the saying goes in France: "jamais deux sans trois!"".
*Slovo (GB)'s gig resulted in six excellent
summer festival bookings such as Lowlands (NL), Roskilde (DK)
and Sziget (H). Their carreer seems to be taking off, says
Paul Bolton (Helter Skelter, GB): "I would recommend
any act to play EuroSonic and hope to have a couple on next
year's event".
