TICKETS - One of the most important things when doing a show, no tickets - no show!
In this issue we focus on Ticketing. The importance of the ticket might also be why there are so many players in the ticket service market, never before has there been more companies launching new ticket services and the abundance of choice is now making it harder for the promoter.
So who will be the successful ticket operators in the future? - The biggest or the one with the newest technology? - Or will it be the one that offers the best kick back?
No, the one winning the ticketing game is the one with best access to the market, that’s what its all about. Technology is not the issue, everyone can now do “print at home” and mobile ticketing, but not many have contact to the market of Promoters and Venues and this is crucial.
At VIP we launched a ticket company (Ticketmachine) in Denmark back in 2000 and were the first to do the "print at home" ticket at big events, with sold out shows in Copenhagen for acts like Springsteen, The Rolling Stones, Robbie Williams etc.
In 2003 the ticket part of the company was sold to TDC, the biggest Telco in Denmark, who were suddenly very interested in the ticket market, and why?
Surely due to the content and brand that Live shows provide and also the amount of revenue created when a stadium is sold out and the fact that the ticket operator gets to hold on to the money for a while.
Knowing that VIP has access to the Live market, we are the perfect partner to launch a new Ticketing service together with!
So feel free to contact me with your ideas about ticketing....
Enjoy!
